The plate you'll reach for at dinner most nights. The well is wide and shallow, so a full plate of food spreads out instead of piling into the middle, and the low rim gives you a thumb-hold when you carry it hot to the table. It holds the heat of what's on it noticeably longer than a thin plate does.
The sage-green glaze is a true matte, high-fired in oxidation to 1260°C so the body is vitrified and won't stain or craze. The foot ring is left bare pale clay for the kiln to sit on.
Each plate is glazed by hand, so the sage settles a shade lighter or deeper from one to the next. Line four up and you'll see it; on its own you won't.
