A 3-litre stainless colander for draining a full pot of pasta, rinsing a colander of greens, or shaking out washed berries. The perforations are set fine enough to hold small shapes like orzo and rice, and the footed base lifts the drain holes off the sink so what's inside doesn't sit back in the water.
18/10 stainless throughout, with the handles and foot ring welded on where they take the strain of a heavy, wet load. It won't rust, hold onto a smell, or stain from a tomato sauce.
Stainless conducts heat, so tip a pan of boiling pasta water through it and the rim and handles warm up with it. A quick lift with a cloth or a moment to cool is all it asks.
