Three nesting bowls that cover most of what a cook mixes — the 1-litre for a dressing or a couple of whisked eggs, the 2-litre for a batter or a salad, the 3-litre for a bread dough or a big bowlful to toss. The weight is deliberate: a heavy bowl stays put on the counter while you beat or knead with one hand.
Sage matte glaze over vitrified stoneware, high-fired in oxidation, the bare clay foot left unglazed. Handsome enough to double as serving bowls, so a salad mixed in the 2-litre goes straight to the table.
The stoneware holds temperature, which is a help for proving dough warm but a hindrance for a job that wants a cold bowl, like whipping cream — the walls won't chill the way a metal bowl does.
