The plate for when you want food to look composed — a bright white ground that makes colour on the plate read clean, finished with a single sage line hand-painted around the rim. It's lighter in the hand than the stoneware and a touch wider at 28 cm, so a plated course has room to sit without crowding.
High-fired porcelain, thin and hard, with a smooth glaze that wipes clean and won't hold a stain. The one sage rim line ties it back to the sage-glazed pieces without matching them outright.
Because the rim line is painted by hand, its width wavers slightly and the join where the brush lifts is faintly visible up close. That's the mark of the hand, and it's the only variation you'll find on an otherwise plain white plate.
