Rectangular Baker

The workhorse of the oven — a lasagne for a family, a tray of roast vegetables, a gratin, a baked pasta with a proper crust at the edges. At 33 × 22 cm it fits a standard oven shelf with room around it, and the 3-litre depth handles a full bake without bubbling over.

This is the oven-safe body: the same sage matte glaze as the tableware over a stoneware clay fired for the oven, so it goes from a hot oven straight to the middle of the table and looks like it belongs there. The walls hold heat, so a dish keeps serving-warm while people go back for seconds.

The deep handles are moulded flush to the dish rather than sticking out, which keeps it compact in the oven but means you'll want oven gloves with a real grip — there's no long handle to hook.
